Citroen has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for the fully electric version of its large Relay delivery van, which is available to order now and starts at £49,355 before VAT but after the government plug-in van grant has been deducted.

The Citroen e-Relay (called the Citroen e-Jumper in other markets) is offered with two battery sizes: 37 or 70kWh. The former has a claimed 73-mile range, while the latter boasts 139 miles. The shorter-range battery is offered with the L2 body length exclusively, while the L3 and L4 lengths come with the longer-range battery.

All body lengths are available in panel-van form, while the L3 offers the option of a chassis cab and L4 offers the option of a window van. Maximum payload is from 740 to 1,150kg and maximum load volume is from 11.5 to 15 cubic metres.

A Type 2 charging cable is supplied as standard for use with wallboxes with outputs of 3.7 to 22kW, while there's also support for rapid charging up to 50kW. Citroen claims that the latter allows for an 80% charge in an hour. Regenerative braking also features.

All information about the van's electric drivetrain is displayed on the interior rear-view mirror, including battery charge, gear selection, plus current and voltage readouts. External styling changes are limited to badging and a charging flap on the left wing in place of the fuel cap.

Standard kit includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB), hill-start assistance, lane-departure warning, a rear-view camera, reversing sensors, automatic headlights and speed limit recognition. Cruise control is also included, plus blind-spot monitoring and hill-descent control. A five-inch infotainment screen is included with Bluetooth connectivity, while an optional nine-inch screen brings sat nav.
