Jaguar I-Pace gets updated styling and trim levels for 2023

Jaguar’s luxury electric SUV has received some subtle styling tweaks and trim level changes, with prices now starting from £69,995

Jaguar I-Pace updated

Five years after the launch of the Jaguar I-Pace, the British brand’s first and only EV to date has been updated as it works to keep pace with new rivals like the BMW iX, Polestar 3 and Audi Q8 e-tron.

The most significant visual change is the new, smoother front grille panel that’s now finished in grey rather than black. Meanwhile, the front air intake blades are also grey, with lower bodywork elements like the door sills and rear diffuser painted body colour. Speaking of which, there are new satin grey paint options as well.

The trim structure for I-Pace has also been overhauled for 2023, and the updated luxury electric SUV is available to order now. The entry-level model is now the I-Pace R-Dynamic S, which starts from £69,995 – around £3,500 more than the I-Pace S it replaces. Next up are the R-Dynamic SE Black and R-Dynamic HSE Black, priced at £73,495 and £77,495 respectively. All three models come with diamond cut alloy wheels as standard, but satin grey 22-inch rims with carbon fibre inserts are now available too.

Sitting at the top of the range is now the £79,995 I-Pace 400 Sport which gets gloss black 22-inch wheels, a rear lip spoiler and adaptive air suspension, along with 14-way adjustable heated and cooled front seats trimmed in Windsor leather.

Jaguar’s Remote smartphone app for accessing charging functions and pre-condition their car has also been updated, plus owners can use it to access Jaguar Charging, which is made up of over 400,000 chargers across Europe operated by various charging point providers.

There’s still only one powertrain option in the I-Pace, which consists of two electric motors – one on each axle – producing 395bhp, 696Nm of torque and all-wheel drive; enough for 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds. The 90kWh battery is unchanged, too, as is the I-Pace’s 292-mile range.

Welcome one and all, I’m Ellis the news reporter on Auto Express, the brand’s former online reviews editor and contributor to DrivingElectric. I’m proud to say I cut my teeth reporting and reviewing all things EV as the content editor on DrivingElectric. I joined the team while completing my master’s degree in automotive journalism at Coventry University and since then I’ve driven just about every electric car and hybrid I could get my hands on.
